Guy Fawks just got a whole lot more fun. Let’s get to it!

Makes 6 dark chocolate apples

Ingredients

  • 6 apples
  • 300g dark chocolate (I like to use one that doesn’t use refind sugar like Montezuma’s 100% dark chocolate and add a touch of honey to taste)
  • 40g of shelled pistachios
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut chips

Method

Fill a pan with an inch of boiling water. Add the dark chocolate to a heat proof bowl and place into the pan. On a low heat, stir the chocolate until fully melted. (Make sure the water doesn’t spill over into the chocolate.)

If using 100% dark chocolate, stir in a little honey to taste.

Place a wooden skewer in the top of each apple.

Dunk the apples one by one in the chocolate and roll in crushed pistachios and coconut chips.

Place on a baking tray and pop into the fridge for about 15 minutes to set.

Any left over chocolate can be poured into chocolate moulds and placed in the freezer to set and enjoy later.
