Whether you’re a lark or a night owl this fructose free green smoothie bowl is the BEST way to start the day. Packed full of cleansing greens and creamy avocados it’s fantastic for the skin. Thanks to the avocado, nut butter and almond milk it’s full of healthy fats to keep hunger at bay.
Don’t pass go and forget the big dollop of almond butter, it’s a must. I swear that stuff is like crack cocaine… Do they do rehab for almond butter addiction? I think I might need to go! I can’t have an open jar in the house before i’ve got it glooping straight into my mouth. Feel free to blend into the smoothie if you’d prefer but I’m a monster and love it as a naughty but nice indulgent dollop on top.
Thanks to the lemon, kale and spinach it’s really alkalising. Sweetened using only carrots and coconut chips smoothie bowls don’t get more nutritious than this… and I promise you there’s no pond water after taste!
- 3 carrots
- 3 sticks celery
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 avocado
- Handful of spinach
- Handful of kale (stalks removed)
- 120ml almond milk (I used Plenish unsweetened almond milk as it’s really creamy)
- 1 tablespoon ground almonds
- 10g sunflower seeds
- 10g pumpkin seeds
- 10g linseeds
- 25g coconut chips
- 1 tablespoon almond butter
Preheat the oven to 180C (fan assisted). Toast the sunflower and pumpkin seeds in the oven for 5 minutes, add the coconut chips for 1 minute until the edges turn golden, allow to cool.
Juice the Ingredients in the ‘juice’ list above.
Add all the Vitamix ingredients to your machine or Nutribullet, along with the juice. Blitz. If you really feel you need it sweeter you can add the juice from an apple or pear.
Pour the green smoothie bowl mix into a bowl and top with seeds, coconut chips and a big dollop of crack… I mean almond butter!
